I find it really weird that all strategy games are military. I think a police strategy game would be pure amazing, so much potential and untouched grounds

Because the cops only point their guns and scream "Freeze" or shoot their gun in the air :p Military people shoot first, see what they shot later

Military has more action and police has multiple methods of work like investigation, giving out car tickets etc~

Sit in a car eating donuts and wait for someone to go 1mph above the speed limit? Yeah loads of fun :p Especially with all the micro involved to chase that car and the reaction time needed to start chasing before you get too far behind

no the doing arrests and stuff

Picture a mission where you have to carry out an arreset warrant and all the stuff involved, like say that guy is in a building, you have to surround it and stuff, get people out i dunno

You could control multiple agencies like DEA/ATF/etc..

    so much potential

Seems to be hard to categorize a police game as strategy. It's more of Action + Puzzle really ._.

There was a cop game out back in the 90's I think. Police Quest or something. It was pretty cool at the time. I don't think it would work today though.

Aside from the warrant part, that sounds a lot like the original Rainbow Six, where you have to plan out the mission at the beginning on a blueprint of the building, get timing right, rescue hostages, etc.

but I am referring to something on a large scale, a city, where you can select large numbers of units etc.. police vehicles and stuff, kind of like the police in Emergency 2012 only not so clumsy and slow

there were, swat 2 is a strategy police game.

SWAT 4 is good, and fun, and hard. I enjoyed it for a while, as I did all the Rainbow Six games.

But as far as strategy? That'd be a tough one. FPS for sure.

tom clancy had a game called like rogue spear or something where you operate as a SWAT team and you had to actually draw out your plan on a map and tell other teams what to do. it was a very cool game.

There used to be one for SNES but I don't recall its name. Player would command a police unit and for every arrest/kill, you'd get points that you could redeem to call for backup units. Name escapes me since its been 10 years lol

I agree, though - a police game would be great. Although NFS: Hot Pursuit is a racing game, playing the police is endless fun.

Edit: Rainbow Six: Las Vegas 2 is a great police SWAT game, especially with a partner.
