I downloaded fraps and can find the programs in a ffdshow folder. In that folder there are three programs

    Audio decoder...
    VFW config...
    Video decoder config..

I looked in all of them but didn't find anything having to do with showing my fraps. How do I use this software to show the fraps? Did I download the wrong software?

EDIT: Re read your post http://www.fraps.com/download.php there is the download for FRAPS it should be one program that you download called setup.exe

after you install it this is what the program looks like

^^Mkelliny^ I see why your rep is high. IF I start FRAPS, then minimize to systray, it should show up in the next game I launch correct? I am on Win 7 home; Fraps 3.30
Pardon the newbie Question but I did not know what RBE was 2 weeks ago

Haha, I like to help fellow NBR members, and no prob man we all have been there at some point in our time. Yah if you minimize FRAPS it will always be running in the background, and will display the FPS in any game and some programs also.(F12 will turn it off/on when minimized to the sys tray.) It will even show FPS when I watch movies in Arcsoft total media theater this can be annoying so I hit F12.

FRAPS - Is the name of the program.

I think what your asking is for the frames per second reading aka FPS.

When you install FRAPS it should ask to give you options for a desktop shortcut and also it will always by default install a shortcut into your start menu.

Fraps.exe is the program you want to run.

It will look like a little window with options to set your settings for screenshots, benchmark mode, movies, etc.

You can minimize this window but not close it, if you close it it closes the program it will not continue to run in the background.

The F12 key is the default key to toggle the overlay for FPS monitoring.

    It will toggle 5 modes.

Upper Left Corner, Upper Right Corner, Lower Right Corner, Lower Left Corner, and Off

You can edit the hotkey from the programs GUI window if needed.

Doesn't Fraps stands for Frames Per Second also?

Mkelliny, thank you so much! One rep for you. I had downloaded the wrong Fraps software. The rep is mostly for solving my network problem.

No not really, its just the programs name. It was derived from Frame Rate Per Second but its not actually a direct acronym. FPS is the proper way to say Frames Per Second and also of course stands for First Person Shooter.
