I just bought a Gateway P-705u computer and I'd like to get the benchmark score on my particular laptop, meaning I want to run something on my laptop and have it tell me my score. What applications are people running and where can I get them?

3DMark 06 is the main application people use.
    Everyone who benchmarks, uses it.

Also, run it at 1280x1024 (which should be the default rez if you haven't bought it) since that is the standard that everyone usually uses

Which means you may need to hook up to an external monitor if your resolution is any less than 1280x1024 (i.e. 1366x768, 1440x900, etc)
