Hello, can anyone provide me with a step-by-step guide or a link to a guide that tells me how to overclock the 8600M GT (DDR2) graphics card? I did a search and all that I got was install a 169.xx driver and use rivatuner or something...

    Thanks!!

I can't seem to access the GeForce Clock Frequency panel...

I only get the "Start nVidia Control Panel" button.

And I can't use I8kfan to monitor graphics card temp (only CPU can be monitored).

My notebook is almost identical as yours player. I think I read somewhere that Nvidia's control panel doesn't support everything for Vista OS.
I don't see the Clock Frequency panel either.

Use instead of RivaTuner nTune, with that you have access to it.

you can check other 8600gt owners' experience,,see how much they can overclock,,you should look out that :
1,what type of the display memory your 8600 has.(ddr2 or ddr3)
2,and read other owners' thread carefully,,u can not just follow their step cause everyone has different situation.
3, increase the clock step by step(such as 5mhz),,do no set the clock too high for one time.

plz make sure you want to do it before you try to..
