    How do I turn off mouse acceleration in CS 1.6 with Vista?

    Apparently the cpl mouse fix is XP only and -noforcemaccel and -noforcemparms in the shortcut does not help.

    I've read about some win32k.sys patch, but all the guides I read about it were very unclear and I'm not sure if it works with Vista.

    Er.. control panel->mouse->pointer options->uncheck "enhance pointer precision"

    i think that's it.

    Pohc, that turns off acceleration in windows, but not in game. I think its some registry change for CS

    Oh, and I saw that thread, but it confused me with accel.exe and all..not sure where that .exe came from. If anyone else has success with this method, could you provide some insight?

    I've also tried that. It turns mouse acceleration off in Windows, but when I open Counter-Strike, there are no changes (mouse acceleration is still there).
