Basically, just bought mercenaries 2 and it wont open, im above reccomended settings and there is no reason why it shouldnt run.

I click play and everytime I am i nstantly greeted with "Mercenaries 2 has stopped working"

After loads of calls to ea and microsft with no luck, I was told I should match the games refresh rate to that of my monitors.

My monitors refresh rate is 63htz. How to I change my games refresh rate to that and my video cards?

I was told to do it by going into the 'mercs2.ini' (configuration settings folder), but when I do that it just opens a blank notepad ?

    Please help,

Many kind regards, Jaboyle :)

there could be multiple 'mercs2.ini' files
.... one that is default... usually blank.
.... another in your "My Documents"... or "x:\Documents and Settings\[game folder]\"

go to Windows Search (Windows key + F)

and look for mercs2.ini on your entire computer (all files and folders)

there might be more than 1 configuration file, thats how most games are programmed.
