    Skyrim GeForce gtx660m ideapad y580 - YouTube

just got my IdeaPad y580 under a week ago, finally about to start some gaming and in pretty much every game I've tried I get something similar to this happening. Settings were the auto-detected. I've changed nothing via graphics settings or GPU options or anything, pretty newb to that kind of thing.

Have you updated drivers to latest?

Looks like artifacting and I've seen this on my own laptop but only when I overclock it too high. Not sure why it's happening to you on default settings.

So first, I would check the temperatures of your laptop. You can download a program called GPU-Z and it will keep track of the temperatures of ur video card. If the temperatures are too high (above 85-90C), look for ways to keep your laptop cooler.

Since your laptop is new, I would also go contact lenovo warranty support. It's possible your video card is faulty and see if they can fix it for you.
