I've got what im pretty sure is a HD 6500M : [IMG]

I tried using msi afterburner but it just says core clock 600 and memory 800. I cant increase it any further than that. Why?

Because it has no included AMD approved overclocking.

    Look up unofficial overclocking mode.

Install the AMD beta drivers then go to the Catalyst control center and there should be a performance option, accept the blurb and overclock to your chips limit!

I dont think you have a 6500m, to me, that looks like a radeon HD 5650m.

You are correct. Primarily because there is no such thing as a 6500M GPU ('tis a series) and secondly because the 6500 series wasn't launched in January of 2010. The 6560 and 5650 are the same GPU though and as Meaker said, OP you'd need to look up unofficial AMD overclocking.

Okay the MSI afterburner unofficial OC mode worked but...the moment i increase the speeds, i get flickering lines all over my screen. Literally anything above default clocks will do this.

    Set the UnofficialOverclockingMode = 2 in MSIAfterburner.cfg
    Restart MSI Afterburner
    Enjoy! :)

    PS.
You will loose Enduro by doing this.

It's not a good idea considering he will loose powerPlay support.

I have the same problem with a DV7 4xxx (Mobility 5650). Any change I make to the stock clocks results in flickering/flashing horizontal lines in Windows. I've tried everything (older drivers, MSI Afterburner Unoficcial OC disabling Powerplay,...) and nothing seems to works. Pretty annoying.

They are both power management technologies. Powerplay I think downclocks the GPU when idling. Enduro on the other hand switches the display functions over to the integrated graphics processor on the CPU's die. I thought Enduro was introduced in the 7000 series. I don't think your GPU has that. Powerplay, yes but it only increases battery life. Lack of powerplay shuoldn't decrease performance.
