i've just bought BF2 and tried to run it but i got crashed back to desktop and didn't run
I have checked it on System Requirements Lab and it shows
BF2 requirements
Minimum: 100% DirectX 9 compatible 128MB Direct3D Card (GeForce FX 5700+/Radeon 8500, 9500+)
I Have: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family ()
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - No
Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 2.0 , You have - 0.0
how can i improve video HW transform % lightning and vertex shader ver?
is it possible to improve / download video HW transform % lightning and vertex shader ver? since everything's fine with BF2 besides those 2 things, and they look minor / optional to me T_T
this is a laptop (and computer) that i''m going to be using for a long time and i want to play BF2 so bad...i just feel dumb that my laptop failed many tests in FPS' due to lack of Video HW Transform & Lighting Vertex Shader Ver. while my old hplaptop can still play those games
thanks for advice

Those are things included with your vid card, sorry but you are unable to play BF2.
-
Yep...
Definatly and I think you wouldve known that all intel integrated graphics can't play bf2 (unless x3100). also the thing you don't have on your gpu is in the gpu itself. so basically you can't play it (lightening and transform is used most of the time in the guns shooting bullets). Sorry

thank you for answering my thread, i appreciate that
are there any ways to buy / upgrade graphic cards for Dell LatitudeD630 then??? -
nope you can't upgrade your graphics card, as integrated as it is....
however you might wanna give the BF2 shader mod a try:

it doesn't work
, thanks anyway
am i able to puy new graphic cards into my d630 laptop?? this is probably my only chance
money's not really a problem. i just wanna play bf2 on my d630 laptop -
As answered earlier, no, you cannot upgrade your GPU. Might want to just start saving for a new notebook if you really want to play it.
-
if money is not a problem then look for a notebook with dedicated graphics card. i hope you were aware that latitude is a business notebook when you made the purchase.

Isn't the Mobile 965 Express family called the X3100? Anyhow thats what I have and I can play BF2.
You need to download the latest 965 drivers. To install you must manually uninstall the old driver. This will force your computer to reboot. Then afterwards, install the new driver.
Coupled with the latest game patch, the game should run. -
I believe the has the GMA950, which does not support T&L.
-
Nobody has mentioned it yet but....check the refresh rate for your screen. If its anything other than 60Hz...your SOL. BF2 and BF2142 both only accept 60Hz screens. The only way you can play using your machine will be to output to an external monitor. Some people have reported that editing the config files works for them, a lot of people have reported that it didn't work. Best of luck!

If he has a GMA950 it won't even get to that option. It doesn't support T&L. If he has the X3100, it may run.
-
I think it's the refresh rate. I have the same problem but it's only my refresh rate which is stopping me. I guess it isn't convenient lugging around a 2nd monitor with you whenever you wanna play bf2 on the go.

Ok, again, he has said he does not have T&L, which IS REQUIRED for BF2/2142. If he had the X3100, he would have T&L. The GMA does not.
How do i run BF2 with Dell LatitudeD630?(20)
