Do you mean enabling you to play it without the disc inserted?
-
get nero and make iso image.
run daemon, clone drive, or cdspace. -
Or Alcohol , it also makes ISO copies of the game.
-
That never works for me
. In case you're wondering, backuping the game is as illegal as using a no disk crack.
-
No like I own the game Im just sick of using the disc. Also, will cyberlink or power 2 go work?
-
Download UltraISO.....then make an image of the disc using that same software...then mount the image...It always works for me...
-
That's why it was very kind of Valve to make Steam because I can just click on Half Life 2 and boom no disc
-
ImgBurn will do the job. It's free and lightweight. You can create a disc image with anything using ImgBurn.
You'll also need to find a no cd crack.
Notice: All of the above is classified as illegal. -
It's stupidly illegal, that's what it is. Being able to play and backup game discs without breaking eight laws and voiding three warranties would have meant that I'd still be able to play Guitar Hero on my 360, and not be left with a bunch of 70USD coasters.
-
So using a nocd crack is still considered illegal?
-
Amen, brother. Amen.
-
I also hate using the dvd /cd. I often go through the trouble of using deamon, no-cd cracks etc. so I can play my bought games without cd.
-
Direct2drive.com
-
Steam has it's flaws such as chances of people spamming you while you're in game, Putting your entire cd key into a account is risky, if someone cracks your account pass. Your game is as good as gone
-
Diablo II released a patch that eneables you to play without the disc btw
-
well blizzard have made enough from diablo 2 that they can afford to by now
-
true, Diablo III is on the midst of Success Already.
-
I think over the next year or two we will see a significant change in copy protection. Steam and Direct2Drive have become significant factors in the PC game publishing world.
Plus portable machines, namely laptops, have become more and more popular as well. Portability means you want to lug around as little as possible with you. Unfortunately this may mean protection like the "phone home" method like with Bioshock or Mass Effect. But if it legally eliminates the need for a disc, I'm all for it.
Too bad cartridges are so dang expensive. However, with flash memory dropping in price, if it gets cheap enough, they could release games on flash memory, which would be more conducive to improved security. -
I see a day where the world rids of Desktops
-
I don't because it will always be easier and cheaper to make a more powerful desktop part than a laptop part.
-
Well the future cannot be predicted
How do save a game on to my computer without needing the disk
