NVIDIA® GeForce® 9500M GS512MB
8600 GS
8800 GS (I think i remember this being a card but not sure)
8600 GT
8800 GT (I think i remember this being a card but not sure)

8800m GTX, 8800m GTS, 8600m GT (DDR3) = 9500m GS (DDR3), 8600m GT (DDR2), then finally 8600m GS. -
okay thank you so much
EDIT- I'm just wondering... Is there any difference between the 8600m GT and the 9500m GS -
What Pai said. But also add how awesome I am.

Yes there is a difference in the 8600M GT and 9500M GS. The 9500M GS will perform better than the 8600M GT when using the same type of memory, so if you find a 9500M GS with GDDR3 get that over an 8600M GT.
They are essentially the same, except the 9500M GS is a smaller feature size, so it should consume less power and create less heat as well. In that die shrinking you will also gain a small amount of speed because the tiny little electrons dont have to move quite as far
If you throw in ATI's cards then the HD3650 perfroms as good as those two as well, although most likely better if it has GDDR3. -
yeah, I like the ATI better cause for me pure raw power is not very important but total balance , IMO, most of NVIDIA's have heat issue.
on paper ,the NV9500GS runs cooler and increase battery life if rest of specs are the same , but see the F8 series, changing it from an SV to SN , I never seen any battery life increase. -

8600M GT=desktop card, and better than 9500M GS,mobile card.
8600 M GT DDR3>9500 M GS ddr2>8600 M GT ddr2 -

The 9500M GS beat the 8600 GS? That's pretty interesting. -
It seems the 9500m GS is actually a die shrink of the 8600m GT so the anomaly with suffixes can safely be ignored in this case.
