I play MW2 on the 360. I've gotten 100% on everything- spec ops, campaign & multiplayer.
I've never played any of the BF games.
I just want to see what people who have played both MW2 and BC2 think about both of them. How similar are they? I watched one BF2 trailer and saw some things in it that seemed like a copy of MW2. For example, in MW2 MP when you wound an enemy you'll see a symbol like this on your crosshairs

    \ /
    / \

I hope you know what I mean. Anyway, think I saw that exact same thing in BC2...

    So what's the deal?
    Thanks for your comments.

the maps are alot bigger, it sometimes takes a huge amount of ammo to kill someone compared to cod and sometimes 2-3 shots will do (probably because of actual recoil on guns compared to cod). scenery is destructible which is sometimes good sometimes bad, it's way more objective based than cod as in your k/d doesn't matter that much just that you win. not as much customization as cod and leveling up is way more difficult when you first start but once you get the first gadget of your class your point per match can go up by a factor of 10.

vehicles are fun and i've still yet to master any form of flight so im usually a gunner (if you get in a helicopter just know when to bail out and you should be ok.

hit markers tend to be a common trend in gaming now adays but it's really useful when sniping, also holding down the trigger after shooting will leave you scoped in so you can see where abouts your bullet went.

erm medic is fun when playing rush as attackers, if you revive a team mate their death doesnt count and you dont lose a ticket, also repawn delay sucks but is necessary.

one thing bad this is (no sure about consoles but on pc) you have to wait till the next level has loaded to quit the game -.-

    What Nujables said.

I played COD4 then this It still has a feel of COD BUT less run and gun. Also TEAm and squad oriented which what i LIKE. COD4 you can just sit there all day and win. Here you sit all day and you'll most likely lose unless your a GOOD sniper.

I've played both, and I don't like the battlefield series. I have played it on the 360, and battlefield is too big, slow and boring for me.

The maps are far too big for the 8 v 8 ( believe this is the max, but I cannot remember), but whatever it is, the maps are too big with not enough people. I get bored of playing it after about 1/2 hr.

Now i know mw2 is pretty much run and gun, but i just don't like the feel of battlefield. Maps are too big, not enough players, not enough customization, guns, classes, and I don't like any game with vehicles online. But the biggest reason I don't like a lot of games (including bc2) are the controls. I don't like to be limited to standing or crouching. If i want to lie down, then let me. If I want to jump, let me.

Im not someone who just likes run and gun games, I actually only play search because it takes more thought than tdm. I also love ghost recon because it is very tactical, and the maps aren't too big and I'm not limited by the controls (but I would like to be able to jump, but at least I can lie down).

    Bad Company 2 8 v 8? It's 16 v 16. And BF2 is 32 v 32.

I believe consoles are max 24 players.

Sorry 12 v 12, I can't remember but I do know that it is far too little for the size of maps on a console.

Bad Company 2 is 16 v 16 on PC... unless ive been magically playing the wrong game this entire time.
I would only compare MW2 to BC2 on the basis that both are first person shooters. BC2 is sand-box environment and is much more team and squad based. Guns have actual recoil, bullets have ballistic tragectories, you dont get out of breath after 10 meters and can run infinitely, its much harder to kill someone nevermind spot them at times, lone-wolves die qucikly, there is a larger variety of guns... i can keep going all day.
On top of that MW2 looked out-dated at the moment it came out whereas BC2 is DX11 and is graphically far superior.
Regarding it being a slower gameplay... you can have it slow and sketch out in foresty hills with an M24 or you can grab an M416 and hose everyone in the face running around like crazy maintaining a 4:1 KD ratio.
MW2 is still a good game... but its too simple for my liking. Even climbing through windows you have to "W"-jump-duck-"W" instead of just pressing the space bar to auto-climb.

BF is just a slower play style due to the larger more open maps. the destructive terrain of BF means that common camping spots wont usually last as long. Hardcore to Hardcore comparison i feel that BF is more realistic. BF has more snipers as a downside though and mortar strike replaces noob tubes as the bane of the players

32 vs 32 is BF2, and hopefully for BF3 as well. And if you think the maps are too big, you might wanna stay away from BF2 and 3.

Well for starters, BC2 is actually a good game.

    Unlike MW2.
