i know that my desktop 8800GTS 320mb can handle medium settings at 1680x1050 but laggy in lot of the heavier scenes.... is the 9800m GS the same way? or is it a little slower than the 8800gts?

    Try avoid double posting mate.

Heres a cut paste from the other topic.
Well, have a look at the graph at the bottom of this page.
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...TS.9918.0.html
The GS is slightly less powerful than the GTS but quite a bit more powerful than the 9700 GTS, so I guess it to be 66% between the two.
I dont think you can get too much more accurate

    Dont cross post.

The GS is substantially weaker than the 8800 GTS as the latter is a desktop card.

expect about the same performance if you OC the hell out of the 9800mGS.

the 8800gts 320mb desktop card stock is about as powerfull as the 9800m gts overclocked and the 9800m gs is the same hardware as the 9800m gts but with slower clocks

With the right drivers i play Crysis all high setting at 1920x1200 with only some dips during big action parts. not 60fps but still VERY playable

dont worry if your laptop can not play crysis on high, the engine/textures was designed for higher end hardware anyhow.totally unscaleable for lower end machines ,dont worry about it and enjoy other games that acually run fine.

Why don't you play Crysis Warhead instead? The 9800M GS will rape it for sure.

i belive the 9800mGS is considered a high-end MOBILE gfx card

anyway, ive seen somewhere that a desktop with core i7 costs 8000$ can play crysis all maxed at 1080p @60fps

do you think it deserve 8000$ for a game that will finish in under 5hour gameplay???.....i dont think so

for me with the 9800mGS i can max all games except crysis ofcourse (exp:grid all max 4xAA native) very smooooooth

    thats enough for me

with my 8800m GTS i play at all high 1440 900. Its not like 100FPS but it stays at around 25 30. which to me is playable. I OC to 625 925 1550. Try that out and see what you get. just please do some research on OCing first.

Crysis doesn't support more than 2 cores so why would anyone waste money on 8?

I'm definitely trying to fine tune Crysis. What drivers from nVidia are best for it of from anyone for a matter of fact?

Also how much better does Warhead play than Crysis?

It should fair quite well. My 9500m GS plays Crysis on medium at 1366x768 quite well with very little to no hiccups.
