It should be on par with 8600gt from notebookcheck.com...a good card for gaming but i suggest the nvidia 9500gs (more powerful and linux friendly)

well since the hd2600XT was on par with the 8700gt, expect it to be atleast the same as that, or a bit better.

Im glad someone else thinks that too, many people thinks the hd2600xt is worse than 8600gt :/

I would wait for the HD3000 series that i think is out now
i think its the mobility hd3650 , would be better idea. however it would be costly

i agree with narsnail fully :)

if ATI's new HD 3000 mobility line is as capable and as cheap as their desktop line, there will be ALOT more competition in the mobile market, which is needed cause Nvidia has had free reign for WAY too long.

    2x 250GB sata 5400 i raid 0 (striped)*

    It performed:
    Pcmark05: 5635 (1920*1200)
    3dmark06: 4156 (1280*768)

from those scores its about 8600GT GDDR3/8700GT levels, but dont go by that, 3D Mark is useless.

According to that the HD2700 is about as good as the 8600M GT DDR3 version.

    ^^^
Beat me to it... But I do think that the HD2600 is no where near the 8700M GT.

ATI's stream processors are different.....they are not as powerful....im just guessing but that probably equals around 30 stream processor from Nvidia.

The HD2700 comes between the 2600 & the 2600XT. Don't ask me but nvidia did the same thing with the Go 7700, wihich is slower than the Go 7600GT

    Looks somewhere between 8600GT DDR2 and 8600GT DDR3.

Nowhere near the 8700GT (people get 6000+ on 8700GTs with those level processors at 1280x1024. (thats overclocked however...)
