You shall receive a 240Hz future high extreme tech monitor and it will completely blow away your mind by receiving a 6 figure bill and enough refresh rate to make your eyes reach a state of orgasm by being hit with 4 frames a second even though you cannot comprehend what is blasting through your optic nerve...

Wouldnt it be cool to push through more captures/images down our optic nerves and think really hard so you can like shoot a gun while focused and then just relax for 5 seconds and enjoy the slow mo ?

i dissagree. tf2 and css can drop in the 20's for me and the "mat_queue_mode2" command in tf2 gives me around a 15fps boost. the source engine is very cpu dependent.

Just downloaded Counter-Strike: Source from Steam, set it at 1920x1200 with all settings High and Max AA & AF then ran the game benchmark and got 186 average FPS and playing on a server I get 75+Fps, But in Crysis I only get 30-42Fps at 1920x1080 with a mix of high and medium settings, really f*@~!%$ annoying, guess thats what happens when you combine and ageing game engine and the latest hardware acceleration (Crytek!). Source = :D

    HAHAHA my bad :]

    240 FPS

"TECHNICALLY" wouldnt it be 480FPS combined through the optic nerve? (24FPS approx. real life... 48FPS optic nerve?)

You have to be getting FPS drops. HAVE to. I don't max the AA for this reason. Unless perhaps you're running it at a lowe res. Running 1920x1200, I can't max the AA and I have the 9800GTS (they're practically the same card)

This thread made me reinstall HL2 which I had not played since it first went live, what 4+ Years ago? And I wound up picking up TF2 today for $10 (totally worth it if anyhone was on the fence like me)

Anyhow...I was thinking last night while I was playing HL2, that I can not recall a 4 year old game looking so good revisited...and TF2 looks amazing also...I have actually enjoyed the video quality and attention to detail of these two games more so than 90% of the 'new' games I try..

Not to mention, playing at 14x9 with AA and AF at max, I'm consistently between 60-90 fps....is an amazing testament to the engine.

Funny aside...sometimes Powermizer on my gpu, does not "wake up", meaning...my gpu is stuck at half clock speeds until a reboot, does not happen that often...only pattern I can find is it seems related to ALT-Tabbing out...anyhow...When I first loaded up TF2, I was in one of these ruts...and had no idea...at something stupid like 383/400/700, maxed out I was still getting 45-60fps... :)

Only problem is, now I don't want to drop another 25 bucks on HL2 Episodes 1 and 2...but I have a feeling I wont be able to resist...

Back in business, if a little chastised.

Does that mean I'm a good member lol? (All bans aside =P )

Finally got the internet at home today (shut up guys, there's a reason) so Steam games are on for young and old (by which I mean me). Bring on the orange box!
