Hey everybody, I know you dont have an exact estimate but i dont follow this stuff at all. But on average how far in advance does Nvidia normally announce the release dates for graphic cards? I have to buy a new gaming laptop by the middle of next month and i keep hearing that the 880m will be out about then but i am just suprised they havent announced a release date. Most industries do in that time frame but like i said i dont follow nvidia release dates. I know the 880m is only slightly better than the 780m and is a rebranded version from what i read but i still may want to get it depending on the price. Thanks for any info everybody

as a guess, we will not see the 880m for a few months after announcements. I suspect this summer sometime it will be on shelves like the 680m and 780m

You will hear more about new GPUs February 18th. I also think Anandtech and co will write about a bunch of 800M series cards. But dont take my word for it. They usually does this, and I think GTX 870M, 880M, GT 840M, GT 820M and GTX 860M are most likely launching this month.
But dont expect anything revolutionary. GTX 880M is just a GTX 780M running @ 1GHz. Its already for sale @ Ebay. -
Thanks, i know it wont be much faster than the 780m but it may help my resell value when i decide to sell it which i always do. I will wait then and see what Feb 18th says.
How far in advance does Nvidia announce release dates?
