How good is War for Cybertron and Sniper Ghost Warrior?

I know they're different games, but how does sniper compare with bad company 2?

Ghost Warrior is laughable at best. I installed and promptly kicked myself for not trying out the demo before buying it.

TWFC is an excellent game. Horrible "port".

Non-customizable controls (there is a 3rd party work around)
    30 FPS cap
    No communication of any type.

Its a shame, because its one of the best games I've played all year.

If you want "War" then look into ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead which should be released Jun 29th, 2010 (tomorrow!).

I got transformers for PS3 and I don't know if I can recommend it right now, I have no interest in the single player, and multiplayer has a lot of connection issues, but when games DO work and don't lag, it's a blast, but I'd wait on it until they patch it (if ever)

What he said. I was glad I played the demo first.

I think I played through about 5 minutes of it, and then immediately uninstalled it.

Transformers is great, I am done the Decepticon campaign now and starting Autobot. Really well done, and a lot of fun with a great story. Don't know about the other, thought it was not released yet?

I played the demo myself, graphics look nice but i tried for a bit and it also just uninterested me after a while too. Transformers i really really enjoy, sucks that i only get 30 FPS through my monitor and sli!! But besides that the game is well done and so is the story line and for the first time it was done right, finally a good transformers game, i don't know if i am going to try out multiplayer yet, recently just became uninterested in that.

Is Sniper Ghost Warrior just bad, or is the supposedly realistic sniping just boring? I'm interested in slow paced shooters. I'm tired of games where you just run fast and shoot faster.

Realistic sniping is actually the only good thing about this game (apart from graphics which not only looks very good but also runs smooth even on mid-range hardware)
The rest is a total failure. First of all your enemies can see you easily even when you are lying in grass far from them whereas you can't see anything. So hiding doesn't work at all- you are supposed to be the one remaining unseen while seeing everything but it's just the opposite.
Sniping distances are 200-300m which is not a lot. Still it's hard to snipe at high difficulty- at least for you because your opponents can hit firing from an assault rifle with no problems.
Third thing- you are forced to work in "closed" spaces- it looks like you have freedom but you don't. You need to go through certain places and get to certain places before you can proceed. You are forced to go through villages full of opponents to reach certain places etc.
Last but not least- most of the time you have 300 rounds for your sniper rifle- that says something about the gameplay.
If you want a good sniper game you need to go back to Sniper Elite which has everything that Ghost Warrior doesn't (apart from the looks I'm afraid)

Had they just stuck to sniping, the game would have been awesome, they strayed from it though and tried to make it something it wasn't. The CQC is just atrocious by the way.

Eh. I've read about most of these issues, but I was hoping they were exaggerated. I guess I could still "try" it. How disappointing.

I did the same although I've managed about four missions before doing that. In my last post I never mentioned fire support missions (you don't play as sniper the whole time either)-gameplay gets worse and worse.
The only good thing is that Chrome Engine 4 seems to be really good and hopefully we may see more of it (so far it's been used only in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood and several unknown games)

By the sounds of it, that old Sniper Elite game on Steam is better. I played a few custom sniper missions on Arma 2 and those are probably better too.

Get transformers, if you enjoy the transformers genre the game is a blast, finished both the campaigns on PC and enjoyed them both, multiplayer does suffer from some connection issues as its host based not dedicated servers but otherwise the multiplayer is excellent, the lack of voice/text chat is actually a bonus not having to hear the other team whine when you sneak up behind someone and stab them to death.

Is it worth the £25 asking price? totally.

That was a really fun game, and it ran/looked so nice too.

I didn't know it was the Chrome Engine 4.

Sniper Ghost Warrior is for every sniping/stealth fan a "must have", don't fear Call of Duty fanboy opinions, it's really solid title and worth every penny. This was really hot title on this years E3. Look on Youtube for gameplays.

@Riot - Can you explain what makes the game great? Is it immersive? Do enemies see you in camo? Is it realistic? The folks that have posted so far are not what I would consider COD MW2 fanboys. Most have posted here for a very long time. If most posts are considering this a failure, please explain constructively why this is a good game. I am interested myself to hear it. Opinions are good. Even if they are a difference in opinion.

^ Dido to what he said. I'm no where near a "Call of Duty fanboy", I call the games as I see them. If I don't like it, I give reasons why. I don't compare games to other games and say "well this game is better, so this other game sucks".

    Simple and Clear,

You are in a gill suit, lying in grass, from far distance, and enemies see you.It couldn't have been worse,I mean Come On!How is that possible! And you get shot from enemies that use assault rifle, and you can not easily snipe them.Even if the distance is short! With that distance, the bullet should go to the place/direction where the scope points, even if there is a small wind.

Ghost Warrior is an absolutely terrible game. The stealth/camouflage mechanics are ridiculously glitchy, and while one moment you may be hidden to an enemy no more than a few yards away, the next, some npc thug across the map may spot you and proceed to take you out with his smg. Ultimately, there is little to no realism in the sniping experience within Sniper Ghost Warrior.

That being said, the AI programming is terribly inconsistent, and while there has been some mention of a possibly upcoming patch, the AI at the current state of the game is most definitely a gamebreaker.

I'm actually looking for something different from COD (I want something realistic with a slower pace) which I didn't even play so I was thinking I'd like this. I hope they patch that AI. I guess I'll wait until then.

Sniper Ghost Warrior is not that bad.
Sure it has its glitches that previous posters described but the game does have its beauty.
First of all, the camoufalge is not that horrible. There is an indicator that tells you whether you are about to being deteced or not. Fair enough, a real soldier would be alerted if movement was close even if he did not know the source. Secondly, graphics are very good and seems to be well optimized for most systems unlike other games.
On the bad side and in addition to what have been posted by others, the soldiers are not directly looking at you when they are shooting you. Kind of makes the game seem a bit amateur.

The game is immersive if you are able to accept the few glitches mentioned by me and by others. Try the demo first though.
