Ive noticed some notebooks with an HD 4670 and wondering how good it is.
Ive heard the HD 4650 is a bit weak but this one is faster, can it be compared to a 9800gs?

It's just an overclocked HD4650 so if that one is too weak for you, this one most likely will be as well.

And no, it doesn't compare to the 9800M GS. Depending on the game(i.e. a not taxing one) and if it's at a really low resolution, they might perform similarly, but on anything more taxing or at any higher resolution, the 9800M GS spanks the HD4670.

Its a reasonable card which will play most games on med-med/high settings, it scores around 7000 in 3dmark06 but the 9800m is the superior card.

Would it underperform the 9800m gs lightly or largely (same cpu) in Stalker CS at high settings no AA at 1280x800?

Probably slightly at that resolution. Stalker isn't too hungry a game.

The 9800M GS will easily outpace the 4670 in every game that's out there. It will never be close.

Yes but what if the 9800m gs runs at 1680x1050 and the hd4670 at 1280x800! Will the 9800m gs still get more fps (same cpu)?

Yeah but the 9800M GS can handle 1680*1050 for most(if not all) games. The HD4670 can't handle some games at that resolution.

Higher resolution = more clear image(therefore no need for AA)

they are actually close, as i recall from a notebookcheck article with many benchmarks. the hd4670 only falls behind in high res settings, which the 9800m gs doesn't fair well enough to play smoothly either.

Can 1280x800 be considered as high res for the HD4670?

no. 1280x800 is the lowest resolution found on 13+" laptops.
    Why?

Actually 1280x800 looks pretty sharp on 13.3" screens due to the higher DPI...

Its a good card, seems about compareable to a 9800M GS in this test, not sure how close to reality that is though.

The CoD numbers for the 4670 are pretty impressive, though the other benchmarks don't really say much due to the low resolution. But given that, the 9800M GS should be faster than the 4670, though not as much as some people may think.

But I believe the 9800M GS is a [much] better overclocker.

It can play Crysis on all high with 8X AA fluidly except in large close range firefights at 1366X768 or very high with no AA at the same resolution. You can also play it at very high with 8X AA at 1366X768 at 15-18 fps but it starts overheating with graphical glitches.

Some of those test results just don't match what we see in the real world.
