    Using the laptop in my sig, 800*600 Medium shadows, HDR on, no motion blur, what framerate should I get. I get about 20FPS now, dips to 15 now and then, and jumps to 30 when I use thermal vision.

    R6V is a horribly coded game. An 8600m GT has a hard time playing it. Try turning all settings to low, you might get acceptable framerates then.
