    Just wanted to see what temperatures you are comfortable with when gaming. Do you even bother monitoring the temperatures while gaming?

    My temperature limit that I feel safe are:

    CPU: 80C --> Intel i5-520M
    GPU: 80C --> Ati 5650
    HD: 40C --> Kingston SSD

    I'm going to assume that those are high due to my non-gaming laptop profile.

    CPU: 70C --> Intel i7-920 @ 4.0GHz

    CPU: Unknown temp -->SP9400.
    GPU: 85C --> FX 3700m (would like max to be 70C, working on a cooler).
    HD: 50C --> 7K320 (doesn't get above 40C unless I'm moving a lot of files).

    i5-430m: about 65C
    GPU: Stock 5870M about 78C
    HDD: Internal one varies from 30 to 35.
    External 500GB WD Blue eSATA is always around 42, no matter what

    q9000 about 60-62 i'd be comfortable with it going higher but it does not
    2xhd4850 in cfx @4870 clock as long as it's under 95 i won't panic these cards proved to be reliable
    hdd welll i can't monitor my raid temp

    wow those are some ridiculous temps.
    For me its usually

    CPU (T5750) - 60-67c
    Gpu (Mobility 3650) - 60-65c
    HDD - 40c

    Wow ... these numbers seem really low to me. It is not uncommon for my 3820TG's I5-540M CPU to run in the 84-87C range. My HD5650 doesn't go above 76C but I would have no problem running it in the low 80s.

    cpu:70c
    gpu:100c
    hd:40c

    those are safe temps..for all laptops the hd temp being the most important.

    if i pass 100c on gpu...the gpu downclocks.
    if i pass 70c on cpu...computer shuts down to prevent damage
    if i pass 40 c on hd...any recommendations on a new hd

    That's kind of hot for an i5. I would think it would run at around 78C, if it shares the same cooling solution as the graphics card, otherwise around 69C...

    Your thing is hotter than my 720QM.

    Cpu: used to be 88-94 celcius, after a repaste it stays at 69 celcius maximum.

    Gpu: my nvidia 8600m gt used to get 92-94 celcius (stil works after 3 years), I replaced it with an ati hd 4670 which reaches 89-91 celcius easily (at 600mhz instead of 675 mhz).

    My hard drive is always 50-55 celcius.

    Yeah, I don't get where all these 36-40 C HDD gaming temps are coming from unless all these guys have SSDs! I'm much like you, 46-50 just idling and 50-58 gaming (even with cooler).
    To those getting super low temps, what are you using to monitor? (HWMonitor here)

    Cpu = 79c - Core i7 720qm
    Gpu = 79c - Ati Mobility Radeon 5730 ( When overclocked it reaches 82-84 )
    Hd = 45c

    I am going to change the paste soon with some IC Diamond. So i should see these drop by about 5 - 10c considering how sloppily dell applies the paste normally

    CPU(P8600)-61C
    GPU(3670M)-64C,depends on what games I was playing.
    HDD-I think it never reaches 60C,can't remember exactly.

    And of course I have a cooler!

    I use siw (system informaiton for windows) and gpu-z. I used hwmonitor aswell when I was at ice-tea's place to solve my gpu shut down problem (needed a bios update) but it showed the same results as the two programs which I just mentioned.

    I think the people with super low temps have just better built pc's, because of my experience, I don't see any difference in temperature measurement with different software programs.

    well befor setting up my raid i had one hdd going from 46to 54 when idle that was insane a seagate (but this one was the drive closer to my cpu so it might have ben caused by that)and an other one a itachi was staying under 42 even under heavy load so i replaced both with a itachi raid

    CPU(p8400 overclocked and undervolted-2.5ghz) - peaked at 50 C
    GPU(9800m gs stock) - 86 C
    HDD - 48 C
    The CPU temp is surprisingly low in my system and even even being OCed to 2.75 Ghz, it never breaks 55 C. Not too happy with the GPU temp, but I suppose it's not too bad as long as it stays under 90 C.

    Back when I had the NP8662, my HDD always idled around 50 - 55C reaching temperatures around 60C or more. After switching to my current W860CU, I noticed the temperature has never gone beyond 45C even after hours of defragging. The HDD temp depends on the design of the chassis and where it is placed in relation to air flow and heat from other components. I have used HWMonitor and Rivatuner to monitor those temps. SSD's are actually designed to be able to run hotter and I don't know if HWMonitor shows those temps.

    CPU - 60-70C (Q9000) oced to 2.4GHz
    GPU - 85-90C (gtx260m) up to stock clocks
    HD - haven't been monitoring but now will :eek:

    I should repaste my GPU but high 90's is where I worry. I do use a cooler.

    Aside from HWmonitor I also use my Logitech g13 to have my GPU temp displayed using EVGA Precision in real time on the LED which is handy. Still trying to find a way to have it display GPU and CPU temps at once.

    The G73JH runs way cooler and this is without cooler + undervolting etc which i had to do with Dv5t.

    HDD-60c

    My CPU at stock clocks/undervloted runs at about 55c when gaming but at 3.6GHz it will push 80c. My HDD runs hot, it idles around 45-50c and under load goes up to 60c all the time. I want to get a cooler just to cool my HDD down.

    The only time the numbers move above this is if I'm in a hot room, or in the case of HDD's if I'm stupid enough to be running a full sys backup while gaming.
