I rushed and bought a Logitech MX revolution online. I'm sure I will have no regrets with logitech, but how would it be with gaming? I couldn't find how much dpi it is. Anyone know?

MX revolution has 800dpi certainly not "gaming" grade, but i'm sure its quite good for gaming, unless u like ULTRA-sensitive mouse, like me
. the MX revolution is designed for multi-tasking in desktop environment, not for gaming, unfortunately.
-
I think its 800dpi.

I have a MX1000 on one of my computers. I really like it, but compared to my 2 Razors... no competition.

Generally speaking, Logitech mice are among the best for gaming. Yours isn't the most advanced dpi-wise, but still pretty darned good.

Sometime i use my logitec good gaming mouse with laser (not optical but laser) and somtimes i use my thrust mouse that i can recharge. Both are wireless and i can feel the difference between both mouses but when i play ut2004 for example both mouses suit me well!

I don't really notice a difference in mice (that just seems wierd to say). I used to use a cheap Compaq ball mouse that came with my parents' desktop when I played games on my old C640. Didn't notice it being a hindrance. I got a Logitech LX7 when I got my notebook just because it felt good and wasn't too big. Plus, the back and forward buttons are REALLY nice. I use them all the time (unfortunately they don't work in Linux
). It's not a bad mouse... 1100 dpi. Not exactly gaming quality, but I got it on sale at Best Buy for like $30, so I think it was a fantastic buy. To be honest, I don't notice much of a difference in gaming than the old Compaq ball mouse. Usually I just set the sensitivity in-game to whatever feels best.

hey, i just got a mx revolution...and am getting annoyed...
it seems to work fine, but every 15secs or so (random) it will kind of stutter/lag...and this isnt even in games too just my desktop.
been having this problem every since i got it...any solutions or did i get a crap laser?....can u even get faulty lasers....when its not lagging its working brilliants though.
how goods the wireless range? ive got mouse on desk, but my box is under teh table will this affect its sensitivity? im also just using it on my tabletop..but i dont think its this problem cos when it works it works well its just those occasional bursts of lag...
cheers
..it seems to be really bad when something is loading..opening a pdf or something else... -
Yeah I get that lag too, I don't think it's every 15 seconds though, not for me anyways. Your range is fine, it'll reach. I don't notice any constant lag, so it should be fine to game with.
Batteries suck though, 8-14 days? Maybe if you don't ever move it. I get 1-2 days, 3 tops and I have to recharge it. Buit i guess I use my computer more than others.
And if you want to play games on it, I think you can get the 7 additional buttons to play games but the setting's more difficult than with a regular mouse. -
i would recommend the G7 over either Revolution. comes with 2 battery packs and a cool charger. u can swap out batteries and keep on playing because the charger only takes the battery. and the performance of the mouse itself is great. almost no noticeable lag, and very good responsiveness. I believe it is up to 2000 dpi, if im not mistaken. price is kinda high but u can find it on "the egg" or newegg.com for around 65 usd

I tried a Microsoft Laser 8000 as well as a VX Revolution (both wireless) for gaming and neither serve as well as my trusty MX518. Wireless just still isn't there for some forms of gaming. For example, I can definitely sense some input lag when I twitch-turn/move in UT2004.
I've gotta try out one of those Razers sometime to see what they hype's all about.
How is MX revolution Logitech with gaming?
