Title says it all; never played it on my consoles. However for 5 bucks; willing to see what's up. I hear it's a good game. How good is it? And most importantly, how good with Keyboard and mouse? I could easily hook up my 360 controller but I am stubborn and just don't do that with my laptops.

I thought it was a refreshing game and was really fun. I used it with both a controller and with a mouse and keyboard, the menus were set up for a controller so I preferred the controller. for $5 its a good game, I got it on an older steam sale for the same price I think.
On a side not, for some reason this game always gave me wicked headaches, which I don't normally get from gaming. -
It's okay on either one. Some trickier combos at times, but that's about it.
ldmoose, did you disable the aiming reticle? The devs implemented that late into the design process, because internal testers reported the same thing, and apparently a fixed point on the screen helps palliate motion sickness. -
How is the game overall? I'm on the fence. 5 bucks is nothing but I have plenty of games to still get through!
-
It's okay, but a bit frustrating at times. It's not portal (in the sense that portal never gets frustrating except for maybe ONE room with timing- btw Portal was free recently), but it's worth its 5usd (where I picked it up at).
-
It's a fun game, definitely pretty unique. Keyboard + mouse controls are perfectly natural.
-
I've played it on console but I'm not too sure how I'd feel about using a mouse with it. For other free running games, I like to use a controller since you don't need pinpoint aim and it's nice to be able to sit back but mirrors edge would be something different since it's first person.
I'd just try both if you have a USB controller. It's a good game which I enjoyed and I can imagine it being good with a mouse too. Also, the radiant lighting on it is eyegasmic. -

I played w/ keyboard and mouse. Just fine. All first person games I prefer to have the mouse control my view so I can control how far and how fast I look around.

i played with a mouse and keyboard and i like it much more than with a controller (i have it on pc and xbox). its very fun game and i highly reccomend it. just avoid gunplay whenever possible in the game. i dont think there are any parts where you need to use a gun, but thier shooting is the worst of any game i have played.
-
It's a very good game, but the combat is just awful. Fortunately you almost never have to fight, and you never have to actually shoot anyone, but the terrible combat is a really jarring transition from the very well done freerunning gameplay.
-
I didn't think the combat was that bad, apart from one part where you had to kill some snipers who had a tendency to shoot you before you could get close. As the in-game tutorial suggests, if you have to fight, single out individual enemies. Since you're limited to one-on-one fighting, it's much better to fight one lone guy than one with three friends covering him.
The quick-time disarm thing is a real lifesaver if you can land the timing. You'll not only take their gun, but instantly kill them as well, and then you'll have a gun to use against the rest. The shooting mechanics aren't top notch (considering this isn't a shooting game), but it's not that hard to point, click, kill. -
i got the game for free on origin, but i still haven't touched it. But this game is more well suited for a controller
-
I tried the demo of this game on consoles, the controls aren't bad, it's just ever since I bought the game, I prefer the Keyboard/Mouse experience to be better. Majority of FPV games just feel better with a Keyboard/Mouse layout.

It's absolutely amazing and ten times better than on console. (disclaimer) I never tried it on console, but I find it hysterical that the game was (sort of) designed for console and yet works better on PC.
From release day there were articles and reports about how console players found out quickly that a game based on high-agility and quick reaction time (surprise) doesn't lend itself so much to a controller. When ME was finally released on PC, all those twitch turning moves and mid-air spin kicks that were the bane of console players were pulled off easily by PC players (well by me anyways).
Again, I haven't played it with a controller yet, but KB+Mouse worked so beatifically (even though they include a quick-turn button) I couldn't imagine playing it on anything else. -

Plus on PC you can really experience the game across 3 monitors for maximum immersion
Its so hyper realistic that some people would get sick or get a real life fear of heights. -
Where is it available for $5? Steam? -
I didn't have a problem with it on Xbox, but it's sort of making me sick on the PC. Weird, because I played it on a much bigger screen with the Xbox. -

I actually think it's better on PC than on console. When I use a controller for pretty much any game, it feels like trying to wade through water, extremely constraining and frustrating. I've always found a mouse far more convenient and versatile than an analog stick, much more precise and not feeling like waving your arms in jelly.
As for the game itself, I thought it was amazing. The soundtrack is a work of art by itself (particularly the ambient tracks for New Eden, Ropeburn, and The Shard). It would definitely have to be in my top 10 favorite games.
But that's just my opinion. -
I remember leaving the main-menu to idle so I can just chill to the ambiance and take in the beautiful pans of New Eden.
