im thinking about buying this
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Logitec...ones/9429861.p?id=1218114294761&skuId=9429861
i just want to know how long it will last if treated properly. my headset broke in 3month so i don't want to spend money on another headset 3months after i buy this one.

Remember...you ALWAYS get what you pay for.
So its better to invest in a high quality headset if you want it to last for a long time!
Logitech is cool... -
are you saying that that headset won't last long?? i just spent almost 4 month with my 25$ headset
-
It really depends on the headset. I paid 70 bucks for mine 5-6 years ago and it's still going perfectly. Mine's the one from Icematstudio, which doesn't exist anymore. Steelseries continues, but it's a different model. -
soo should i buy the headset that im thinking of buying at bestbuy? if it lasts more than a year ill be happy
-
Nobody knows...
But why bestbuy? I suggest Newegg, where nearly everything is cheaper than say, Bestbuy.
In any case, I always paid good $$ for my speakers & headsets. Especially for a headset, comfort and sound quality is the top priority for me. One you have chosen is something I would never get, even for an mp3 player, because it's uncomfortable and would hurt my ears soon, for example. -
Remember that Newegg offers free shipping to many items and no tax unless you're in Newegg's special 3 states charging tax.
On the item preference though, it's totally up to you. -
well i d like to get one today so i dont want to order from online. And why would it hurt my ear? is it because of the behind-the-head design? If it is, im comfortable with using behind-the-head design.
-
Logitech is usually good quality but it really depends on how you take care of it.
If you want a over-the-head gaming headset, have a look at the Plantronics Gamecom 367/377 -
well i kind of prefer behind the head design and im trying to stay under 50. So if i treat the g330 headset properly, will it last at least a year?
-
I dont personally own one so i dont have first hand experience with its construction and durability. Though most of the Logitech products i own have had a long life.
Have a look at reviews online for that headset -
well it has really good reviews but none of them say anything about its lifespan
-
I own Steelseries 5H v2 for 1.5 year now and I gotta say it was made for abuse. I throw it on a shelf when I'm done with it, throw it in a backpack when I travel somewhere, basically I don't treat it well and it still looks like new
-
I had a Logitech Precision gaming headset a couple years ago...well, I had two actually, and neither one lasted more than a couple months. And I've never been a fan of the behind-the-head design, nor the earpads that sit on top of the ear rather than around them.
I have a Plantronics GameCom 377 and Razer Carcharias, both of which are excellent headsets. The 377 was great, I only got the Carcharias because it was free for me.
I second flipfire's recommendation of the 367/377. The 367 is a closed-ear design, which means a bit more bass and sound isolation, while the 377 is open-ear, meaning a bit better overall sound quality. You can get either of these for well under $50. -
Just picked up a Plantronics GameCom 377
wow this thing is comfortable

You usually get what you pay for... I have these pair of Sony I got for $50 about 5 years ago, and they're still working fine.

Logitech is crap quality
-
Key, your experience might have been negative. However, mine has been extremely positive. I've used many Logitech products and have had very few quality issues.
Off the top of my head I have 2 Logitech videocams, 1 Logitech harmony 1000, 3 Logitech mice, 2 Logitech keyboards (1 is g15), 1 g35 headset, and a G13 gamepad. All of them have been high quality products. However, they have for the most part been very expensive as well. So there is some truth to the old maxim "you get what you pay for"
To the OP:
Don't box yourself into any product until you get the most information on it. Posting on forums is likely to produce responses from those who either really hate or love a product. Therefore, try to read between the lines of what people hate about a product and why people love it. Reviews are often biased so you'll have to take them very lightly.
As for buying from Bestbuy, the best thing you can do is try out the product and see if you like it. If not return it within 30d.
Good luck with your purchase either way. -
It's mostly what you pay is what you get, up to about $100. After that, durability becomes less of a factor and you start paying more for quality.

Logitech products can last long.
I've had a logitech mouse on one of my computers that was treated like crap for like 5 or 6 years now still works fine.
My G11 keyboard is still going even after spilling soda on it several times.
I also had a logitech USB headset that I got for $40 that died on me in a couple of months. Never getting a USB headset again. -

it could last indefinitely depending on how well (or poorly) you treat it.

Logitect G330s. $29.99 at Fry's. Now. http://www.frys.com/product/5989194
-
I prefer to use a standard set of quality headphones and a separate mic (they run 5-10 bucks on newegg or at Fry's). These headphones are great imo, they can take some abuse and if you do break them they are cheap to replace. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106455
-
I like the logitect products too. The G35 does a great job.
-
How adjustable are the 377s? I've been looking for a pair to replace my old Plantronics 550s and the Creative HS-900s I picked up are not very comfortable.
-
Adjustable as in to fit head size? You cant extend it as much as regular headphones. So if you have a really big head it might not fit you
377's has thick padding for your ears and for the top part of your head. -
I had a logitech mic that last me for about a year before it died on me. So now I just used the mic on my laptop. But I do prefer to have a headset/mic combo.
-
I have a pair of Sennheiser headphones that I bought a couple of years ago, and they have taken a beating. Still work as good as the day they were made!
-
I've probably spent close to $100 on relatively cheap headsets in the last 4 years.
Favorite by far would be the Plantronics .370. Bought them for $12.95 shipped. Huge, but amazingly comfortable and adjustable. Build quality on the mic was terrible though. Used for about 4 months before the mic became loose, and the mic wire wore down and broke off after about 7 months. Accidentally tore off the headphone wire after I got out of the chair without removing the headset after about a year of use.
Creative HS-600s are tight around my ears and hurt after extended use. Build quality is better than the Plantronics, but scores a lot lower on comfort. Have had these for about 7 months since my mic wire broke off on the 370s. No twisted or broken wires yet. Paid about $17 for these.
Had a Logitech set, but I can't remember which model.
Waiting for the .377s to arrive.
Edit: Just figured out that my other set was a Creative HS-900. A little tight, but nowhere as bad as the HS-600. Mic quality is lower though. -

ive used the plantronics 377, 777 and logitech g35.
personally i prefer the g35 over the other two because i find them to be much more comfortable then the other two. as for audio quality its pretty close but the g35 sound better in my opinion. if you game alot the g35 has superior audio positioning as long as the game your playing supports 5.1 or better yet 7.1 audio. a great example of this is left for dead. movie sound great on it too and the channel separation is excellent also. dont get me wrong though the 377 and 777 (basically almost the same thing) are great headsets but the g35 is just better in almost every way. the g35 would be good for yah if you think they wont fit your head because the headset it self come with 3 different interchangeable padding of varying size. there are other extra features but you can read about em off logitech site if you wanna know but i do highly recommend them for laptop users -
Too bad, I already picked the 377, guess I'll have to wait till that breaks down before picking something else up. -
The 377 is an excellent headset, and it's built like a tank. You won't have to worry about it breaking on you, and the sound is fantastic.
Mine still works perfectly, the only reason I don't use it anymore is because I got a Razer Carcharias for free. -
How long do normal gaming headset last if treated properly?
