How long do you think this laptop will last me?

Last me in terms of playing upcoming games in the future (even with low settings).

My reason behind choosing that is because it was the cheapest laptop I could find with a video card that supports Dx10.
And for the record I plan on adding 1GB of ram on that.

And of course I haven't bought this yet so if anyone has any recommendations feel free to say it. As long as the video card supports Dx10 and I'm looking for the most bang for buck (not wanting to spend TOO much)

    Thanks for your time.

Check out the Compal IFL90 as well, you can customize it with the 8600GT.

The F3 shouldbe played on low-medium and the upcoming ones on low.

It should last awhile you you defiantly want to upgrade the ram.

But with 1400 check out the Compal IFL90 w/ 8600m GT and WSXGA+ and 9cell+ domestic 3 year warranty(most resellers sell it with a standard 3 year warranty) and other goodies as Cori mentioned. Its probably one of the best(feature/performance) 15.4 gaming NB for the price.

I say two... maybe more... I think it really depends... Not only on Your own preferences, but also on the path that still stands before the gaming industry...

Nothing last in term of being able to play games longer than 2 years. Unless your idea of gaming is willing to work the lowest detail setting and lower resolution in the future.

DX10 based games are demanding if you check the current crop of patched DX10 games. Frame rate are cut in half even on highend desktop hardware in some of DX10 games.

I would say at most you will get 1 1/2 year out of this when it comes to gaming with decent detail and midrange resolution before you sell it on ebay and get a newer model.
