Im attempting to overclock my gpu and im wondering how long i should stress my gpu with ATItools artifacting test. Or should i just use 3dMark (3x) instead?
Also, I have the laptop in my sig and the gpu is known to run very hot (i idle at around 70). So can someone recommend to me a max temp before i should end whatever is stressing my gpu? (Ive gotten to 103C and my laptop didnt downclock)

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
103C is a bit high.If you don't need to stress,IMHO don't stress.
but if you are looking for stable OC,I dnt know.I remember stressing a P3 few years ago for benchmark and it died soon after that.Since then,I haven't tried to. -
Don't even try to overclock when your graphics card is idling at 70C. I believe that graphics cards can go up to 80C, but it is best to keep it under 70C. You should seriously try to get lower idle temperatures before attempting to overclock.

Well, the thing is, this gpu in the laptop is notorious for having such i high gpu temp. I plan on undervolting my cpu and buying a notebook cooler too. But that is a matter ill handle later, i would just like to know how long to use the artifact scanner or if i should just use 3dMark.

103C on that card is pushing it, period, even if the notebook is known to run hot.

Ok, so then what should i do (other than what ive said i will do) to reduce my gpu temp?

cooling pad.. undervolting.. updating BIOS.. applying AS5

definately void your warranty, they will know straight away the standard thermal pad/paste has been removed and replaced with AS5.
How long should i stress with ATItool
