    15.4", with 1680x1050 res
8600 GT 256MB DDR3 (well, FX 570, but same card)
    XP as the OS
    Wireless on
    full charge
max brightness (how much of a difference does brightness make for battery life?)

how long would it last with either a 6 cell or a 9 cell?

can somebody with one give me an estimate (with cpu, hdd, and ram specs).

    thanks.

i dont have a t61, but i can say that gaming, it would last significantly less than a dvd, maybe half that, and u would have to be in high performance mode. You obviously will get more time with the 9 cell, i get a around an hour max of gaming on a high capac hp 6 celll. I personally don't think gaming while on a battery power is a good idea.

not with a 6-cell, with a 9-cell you could get about that.

    I highly doubt 90 mins gaming on a 6 Cell. I can barely pull 1:54 on a 9 cell with a V5200.

It's not a good idea to game on battery, it causes a high amp drain which causes the battery to heat up excessively and cause more wear.

Yes. A 6 cell will keep my T61p running for about 2 hours with CPU throttling and mid brightness.

A 9 cell I can get more about 3.5 hours.

Specs of my machine are in my sig.

If I were you, I'd consider getting both 6 cell and 9 cell, but if only getting one, go for the 9 cell.

I get about 1 hour and 20 min on a 9 cell gaming with half brightness. Cpu throttling will only really kick in for a movie but games require a lot of the processors power. Tested playing lost planet.
