and liking it? whats your pros and cons?

I think that poll is a bit too extreme...not everyone who doesn't have it necessarily hates it. I, for one, don't own it just because I don't particularly care to spend $50 plus game time for it, but I don't hate the genre.
-
Doesn't look interesting at all.

haha crap i just relized that now, thats me trying to hurry and make a post before i went out with the old lady last night....

no, it looks pretty bad, with a ridiculous pay to play plan too for something that's not even near MMO-like. It's like if guild wars became pay to play, except APB is not good.

I just saw the character creation process on youtube. Its really amazing. By far the most detailed and in-depth character creator I have seen.
I went and then tried to find some gameplay videos and then lost most of my interest. It looks like GTA just online. I cant see myself investing enough time into a game like this to get me enough hours a month to make it worth a monthly fee.
I know often game developers are stuck because they cant afford the server side stuff required to make the game work without the pay to play income. However if they were confident that there game is fun and people would be willing to pay monthly to keep playing I would try something new like free to download the game and then only pay monthly. -
I enjoy GTA, but as a general rule I don't play anything I have to pay more than once for.

The fact that they dont have a demo or free trial is very suspicious to me. MMO's that dont have confidence in their game dont do free trials IMO. I mean i would never shell out $50 and a monthly fee just to "try" out a game.
-
I would hardly say the presence or lack of a demo/trial is any indication of game quality.
-
The game seems so senseless to me, i mean there are cops and gangs and if ur a cop and shoot some gang ppl or drive over them ur still a cop, u dont get charged for murder or anything. This makes the game so unrealistic.
-
>implying this game was ever meant to be anything close to realistic
-
Any game that promotes, encourages or exploits fascination with gangs and gang activity are off my list. If I had a child, would tell the kid, play something else also. There are enough stories in the news to keep anyone entertained with the stupidity of gang activities as it is.

I have been playing it, logged about 30 hours or so on my char. I like it, but I find it is way, way too hard much of the time because i'll be renown or prestige or w/e the levels are called 70-something and come up against guys that are level 250 or so and just get completely pwned
-
So long as my children are mentally competent enough to understand the difference between fiction and reality, I plan to allow them the freedom to entertain themselves however they wish, provided it's just that - entertainment. Anything else would just be insulting their intelligence. -
I played APB for a few weeks in closed beta... but I stopped now. I haven't played on live so I'll just say what was good/bad on beta.
Good things:
- Character creation and customization
- GTA "feeling"
- Graphics looked really nice (Unreal engine)
- Car customization
- You get personal statues in the game for completing achievements
Bad things:
- Due to the fact everyone has completely customized character it took some time to load all the textures. E.g. if there were 4 people on the road, it would took 15-20 seconds for all the char textures to load properly and meanwhile everyone had some generic texture.
- Missions are beyond boring. I know it's a PvP game but still... if you thought WoW grinding was the most boring thing ever - think again.
- It seemed everything in the game was positioned randomly. The lack of any story was also kind of weird. It felt like a GTA sandbox game without any story and real mission... and I found that really boring.
How many of you Guys are playin APB
