I just purchased a 47lm6200 led lcd tv with cinema 3d technology. With my normal settings it has high input lag and games are unplayable. In game mode the lag more or less goes away i get around 280ms lag on the www.humanbechmark.com test and around 250ms with my laptop. I wanted to play PC games in 3d but when i switch to 3d the lag comes back. I can play casually but def would not try this for online competition. hooking up my xbox i didnt notice it but now I know about game mode and will prob end up winning more halo matches.
in 2d this tv is amazing and playable, however who buys a 3d tv solely for 2d. I will probably keep the tv as its the best iv'e seen to date. and i highly reccomend others look into the 2012 lg 3d tvs as they have no competition. however
How many people game on TVS and what is your experiences or advice for others that do also or are thinking about doing so?

Most 2D to 3D conversion tech is meant for movies, not games.
If you got a 3D native game then it should not be that much input lag.

I´ve played in my 32" LG LCD TV for the last 4 years. No complaints at all. Never bothered with 3D.

I bought a 3D monitor to game in 2D mainly because it comes with 120hz capability and that is what I needed. However the quality is outstanding even without the 3D and the 2D to 3D conversion in games is amazing, I was so surprised how great skyrim looks by conversion and without the FPS hit that 3D comes with. Not to mention I love that it is completely flat.
27" I find is the perfect size to game on as well I find 1080p on a screen bigger that 32" starts to look a little too much like console graphics.
Here is mine: 27" Samsung Syncmaster 3D 2ms.Attached Files:

Do you consider a laptop screen a PC monitor?

Yiddo I had the same monitor. It's pretty good but distance away from monitor determines clarity as well.
1080p on a 47 inch LCD looks razor sharp at 5 feet back the same as my laptops 1080p at 1foot away.
You should look into the LG cinema 3d TVs that rolled out this year..they knocked my socks off compared to my sync master -
Any standard FHD monitor is good enough for me!

Depends on the game with me, if its something like sleeping dogs or darksiders 2, basically something that's usually played better with a controller I would hook up to a tv, if its an RTS or fast paced competitive fps like Battlefield 3, I would switch back to my monitor.

I game about half the time with my envy connected via HDMI cable to this 1080p projector, and the rest of the time just using my laptop display. Don't own any televisions.
When using the projector in my living room, the image is about 108" x 192", and the image quality is excellent, however, you need good quality light proofing. I've had an opportunity to compare a couple of films I've seen in cinemas as well as on blu-ray and in some cases they looked significantly better on the projector at home.
It's also really hard to read the Steam overlay chat font, etc., but this is much improved with Big Picture Mode. -
I do have a nice 47" TV in this apartment, but the pain of constantly connecting it to my laptop each and every time...nah, not worth it. I'm just using my 17" laptop monitor, more than good enough for me.

If it's an FPS or something without controller support, I play it on my desktop. If it's something better suited to a controller (most 3rd-person games, most recently Skyrim) then I'll play it on my HTPC/TV.
