I've been trying to figure it out but i keep finding different things,
How much actual dedicated memory do the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS, 8600M GS, and 8600GT have?

    8400M ranges from 64 to 128MB i think, the 8600gs and GT range from 128mb to 512mb.

Depends on the laptop in question.

8400m GS can have either 64 or 128 meg

    8600m GS i've seen have 128 or 256

    8600m GT i've seen have 128, 256, 512.

On any model, try to make sure you get GDDR3 memory. If its a choice between a 256 meg GDDR3 and a 512 meg GDDR2, take the GDDR3 card, they're substantially faster.
