The 2 games I play regularly are Starcraft and Countersrike 1.6

I play the occasional new game that comes out, ie Rainbow 6 Vegas, Company of Heroes, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfigher 2 (waiting for that one). Gaming takes a lot of time out of my life, and for what, lol. I always say to myself, "imagine if i used that time for studying"

You're a second rate gaming addict. If you're talking about being a REAL gaming addict, you MUST include the consoles. If you're talking about pro. Go look at Jalf's post. The pro gamers are the ones that play games for money because they're professionals. It's what they do for a living. If you don't play games to earn money, then you're not pro. This will always be the case no matter how much you play or even if you're better than those guys that play in tournaments for the money. *points to those Korean gaming addicts/pros with no lives and plays at the annual WCG*

I'm not claiming to be a gaming addict. (nor would I want to because being a gaming addict or pro is moot point)

    These are consoles I have:

NES (it's older than me!), SNES, Gameboy, Genesis, Game Gear, Playstation, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast, Game Boy Advance, Playstation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

I play some PC games, mostly RTS. CnC series is definitely my favorite. I'm happy my desktop can still play Supreme Commander at high settings with smooth framerates. I used to be quite fond of Total Annihilation so Supreme Commander was just a must-have for me.

And I read your previous posts. You say they were going out of topic? Think before you type. And stop being a cynical bastard. You ain't 007.

I'm not much of a gamer... I only play Battlefields 2 & 2142, COD 2, Company of Heroes & CC3 and CC Generals Zero Hour..Uhh, Ps2...I have one, but I haven't played it in like 3 years.

Oh, and I can never forget the Medal of Honor series.

Not much of a gamer. In between sleep, DVDs, this place, my degree and sleep, I don't have the time!

FEAR is 1/6 through. Play Pro Evo occasionally.

Still haven't started a game on Oblivion 2.5 months after buying it... its a shame :(

    Want a Wii though :D

Anyone heard of God Hand for the ps2? I think it is a great throwback to ye olde 16bit/arcade days. I believe that beat em ups and scrolling shooters should be the foundations of any mad gamer...though they are ironically the 2 genres most ignored these days.

I just skipped through the thread and have to say:

No one is a proper gamer if you did not start your FPS years with Doom.
I even have the old Doom games on floppies somewhere lol.

Your not too much of a gamer! But still a gamer.
Reasons.... It took you 30 days to beat DoomIII
And you don't play any BF games, or play CS:S/DOD:S
    I hate soccor!
Main reason! You haven't beaten StarCraft!? WTF is wrong with you!

Now I'm a gaming addict, but not a crazy loser gamer like that one korean guy who gamed 3 days strait without doing ANYTHING(eating, sleeping, drinking etc.), and died on the way to the hospitol!

I've been gaming since I first got an NES, and used to love mario, but I'm SICK of hearing about that plumber now! The best mario game was Super mario RPG.LOTSS, lets leave it at that! And stop making mario games! Current ones SUCK!

Hell, you're not a gamer if you don't remember the games iD made before Doom and Wolfenstein

Commander Keen 1, 2, 3? Good times, 'cept the later levels were too damned hard.

I voted lower because you only play mainstream titles. Real Gamers adventure. Born to play gamers play games that may, or even probably, suck just to play them and talk about how much they suck. Lastly, Real gamers don't need people to tell them that they are real gamers.

Commander Keen sucked. Seriously. The sooner the gaming community realises that, the better. Deal with it. Catacombs and Hovertank were pretty sweet though.

EDIT: Except for secret of the oracle. That game was cool. I love dopefish.

lol who knew you'd get so much flame for this? well....me...and everone else....lol

dude you just have a lot of money....you direct it twards gaming, i suggest geting either a 360 or a life...depending whether or not this thread changed your views on becoming a "gamer"

: Everyone's a gamer in their own sense/little world, i wouldnt go around telling ppl ur the best or boasting about how many games you've "mastered"...remember: there's always somebody above you, no matter what.

No, real gamers PLAYED Adventure ;) And don't be a hater. At least he's asking something other than "OMG Nvidia 8600GSTFX When it be play?"

And Commander Keen may have sucked relative to current games, but it was a major technological leap at the time, which is why it has stayed in the gamer's consciousness. Pong sucks, but it's still an awesome game because it was the first commercial video game.

    OK
as far as getting a life is concerned........I have one, and a good one.
And as far as the money part is concerned, I dont have much, I just do those part time jobs, spend most of my cash socially, and the rest on stuff like this. I cant save cash, thats just not my thing. I like blowing it.

Gaming for me is a passion, which I do follow. Yes, I cant game continously for 10 hours or so. Thats just not me.

Trust me I know the feeling towards Commander Keen, I was there. Also, my girlfriend told me she played Adventure in like 1st grade.

I just always didn't like Keen. A few of my friends did, they had the shirt too. The only game I really played all the way through (without getting bored) was Secret of the Oracle. Talking to my friends who also played those games they didn't really like many of them either.
Kind of like Far Cry, the graphics are great and all, but the game ain't all that good.
