This may seem like a stupid question, but, how do check the version of your graphics card driver? When I look at device manager it says driver version: 7.15.11.5663 but from what I have read on other threads I expect to see something like 169.## or 172.##. Also what is the most stanle driver for the 8600GT (GDDR3). Thanks for any help.

Download RivaTuner, open it and look at the bottom part, over there you can read your driver version.

Get into Device Manager, click +Display adapters, double click you graphics card, click the Driver tab, look for Driver Version and the last 5 numbers will show ya.
For example the last five on mine are 1.7431, so I've got 174.31
Theres probably an easier way but thats how I do it -

If you're using a Nvidia graphics card, you can right click the desktop and click on the Nvidia Control Panel. In it, if you click on System Information (or whatever it says in the lower left hand corner) it'll show you clearly what driver version you are using.
BTW AndyL, you're using 1.5663 -> 156.63.
Time to update them drivers...
