I have an HP Pavillion dv9410us notbook with an nvidia 6100 go graphical card, 2gb of ram, 17" screen, AMD turion 64 X2 mobile technology processor and Windows vista home premium. Most of my games run on it, but not as fast as i would like them to go. I have heard that there are external video cards (becasue my notbook can not have its internal video card changed). I was wondering if there is a chance i can boost my graphical quality and performance on my notbook by either an ecxternal video card if there is any, or other stuff.

Please help solve my problem :)

No, one isn't out yet and probably never will be.

asus had one that was going to be released in summer.. but that product got dropped for some unknown reason.

and i bet someone will make one at some point... there is a huge demand.

yeah, this is more a matter of "when" than "if"...

but, this new technology will probably require some sort of direct access to a pci x16 type slot, so it will probably still require a new laptop.

OR, if it just doesn't play out, then, eventually:

the cpu will absorb the gpu (i know about integrated gpu's, but for REAL) in which case a new, faster cpu would increase graphics performance directly. (not saying intel will take over, could be nvidia or amdati)... nvidia EVENTUALLY will be forced to either start doing cpus or get bought out by intel.

this is another when, not if, situation. (but of course, it would STILL require a new laptop...)

I believe this is coming out in either 2009 or 2010, but I remember hearing about GPUs being integrated into CPUs

Yup, I think it's for end 2008-2009 that AMD CPUs will have the integrated ATI chipsets in them.

The mythical Asus XG is supposed to be released later this year, probably worth checking Asus website to see specifications on the product. It's not going to be that much more powerful than the 6100 even if it is released.
