    Hi all

I am having difficulty finding out whether my SLI GPU is working or not. Here is my configuration:

    DELL XPS M1730
    Core 2 DUO T8300 @ 2.40 GHz
    2 Gb RAM
Nvidia 8700M GT SLI 512 mb

Here is why I think one of the two might not be working.

When using GPU-z, it always shows SLI as DISABLED, even though I can select between two 8700M GT and the SLI in NVIDIA panel shows activated.

Also, The SLI zone software just doesn't seem to detect that I have a SLI setup at all.

When looking at advanced display settings, I show :

Processor type : GeForce 8700M GT
    CNA : Integrated RAMDAC
    Card : GeForce 8700M GT
    BIOS information : Version 60.84.6a.0.6
Total graphic memory available : 1023 Mb
Dedicated video memory : 256 Mb
System video memory : 0 Mb
Shared system memory : 767 Mb

I am wondering if dedicated video memory shouldn't be 512 mb when SLI is activated (2x256)

Other than GPU-z showing two identical cards to select from, Hardware manager also shows 2 cards, one sitting at PCI BUS3 and the second at PCI BUS 4.

I have looked in the BIOS and found no setting to change whatsoever.
I have activated and deactivated often the SLI in NVIDIA panel, always resetting after changes, but the memory and all other parameters remain identical in both SLI activated and deactivated.

I would like to know if there is one easy way to determine if both cards are fine and also if the memory numbers are normal with a 2x256mb card.

I unfortunately do not have yet a game to test SLI configuration.

Thank you all for your help!

You could try running a program like 3dmark06, the test score should make it clear if the SLi configuration is working.
