Was just made aware that this feature has been available on desktops for a while now.
A video on youtube mentions there is a setting found in the global settings of nvidia control panel which does not appear on my laptop.
Done a search with no conclusive results either
Is it possible to enable DSR on my laptop?

It's not available on laptops

Not out on laptops yet.
But if you don't have Optimus, you can just create a higher custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel, and downsample that way. -

Having heard the warnings about that, what is the real chance of risk to a monitor if just trying to run @ 4k?Last edited: May 10, 2015 -
Yeah, I'm also concerned about the warning.
Since I'd only like to apply it to a single game, is there any third party way of doing it? -
There are no issues with setting a custom gaming resolution. The driver automatically down samples it. You can't use the custom resolution unless you select it so you only select it for the games that you wish to use it with.

You aren't going to damage a monitor with a custom resolution. If you're worried, you just shouldn't try thing like overclocking it.
How to enable Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) on my laptop?
