I'm trying to find the vBIOS inside the BIOS for my Sony VPC-EA290s.
I've got it open in PheonixTool's structure screen as well as I have a dump of it, but I'm not sure what file in the dump is the vBIOS to open up with RBE.
    The GPU is AMD 5650.
    Could anyone help me out?
    Thanks!

Edit: Here is the orginial BIOS if anyone wants to take a look: https://mega.co.nz/#!VVdWRJLL!eNrHLywdWvyXahqjlUtnUwMme8Nh9jF0xqh-WJfwBao

I thought I had found it, but the dump is 1MB, instead of 64KB it should be, and when I try and open it with RBE it says its for an older than 3xxx series card and is not supported. But there is not reason it shouldn't be.

Could you tell me how to do it myself? Because if I make modifications to the file I'd need to put it back into the file to flash.
Are you using different software than Pheonix Tool 2.12 (which calls it EMI/Insyde)?

    Thanks!

vBios is not located on the same CMOS as the BIOS?

If it is not, then where is it? I was under the impression (based on everything I read here and elsewhere) that on laptops they were with the BIOS.

CMOS on the GPU? When you flash your GPU, you replace the vBIOS on the CMOS on your GPU with the new code.

No, not in the case of laptops.

When I think about it, I don`t think Ive seen a CMOS on my GPU. You are probably right. I know desktops have it though

I'll better send you a PM, before everyone starts to brick their system by changing something with tools. ;)

Only MXM modules (and wannabe MXM modules) have the vBIOS on the card itself.
Even then some have an additional vBIOS in the sBIOS.
Notebooks, where the dGPU is part of the motherboard, only have the vBIOS as part of the sBIOS.
