    How to force games to run in lower DX mode?

    I heard people talk about that they run DX 10 games in DX 9 mode and DX 9 games in SX 8 mode etc. My questions is simply how can you do this and will the FPS get better?

    You'll have to look up the option for each and every game. Some will have in-game options like "Use DX9," while other games will have something like a "-dx9" flag you have to enter into the command @ run time.

    There is no 'method' applicable to ALL games, so we have to ask...

    What games are you specifically asking about?

    okay i understand, i just was qurious about the process.
    I was thinking about a MMORPG called 2moons to tey it in DX8 becuase it is in DX9, maybe i get better FPS. I am also interested in Far cry in DX8 just to test the difference

    you will probably get a decent fps boost at some cost to image quality.
