I recently purchased an hp dv9500 with
    -2g ram
    -geforce 8600m gs
    -2ghz core2 duo
    -vista 32 bit

I am wondering if BF 2142 will work on my computer? I have not bought the game yet because I had bought it before and it did not work on my other notebook. I had a dv9000
    -2g ram
    -2ghz core2 duo
    -geforce go 7600
    -vista 32 bit

When I tryed starting up the game it would not start and windows said that there was an unknown error and it would get back to me if it found a solution or something like that.

Will I have this problem with this new graphics card? Has anyone had any experience running this game on this card? If so is there a driver that I need to download to make it work on the 8600m gs? (The site only lists certain supported cards and claims the most laptop versions of the cards will not run the game) Thanks for the help everyone.

This sounds like a Windows Vista related problem. You'll have to wait for good Vista drivers for your 8600M GS.

Have you tried running on vista as administrator? Overheating issues? Because, my BF 2142 is working pretty well on Vista.

It shouldn't be a vista problem. It is supposed to work fine on 32-bit vista. I beleive it was because the go7600 was not compatible.

The 7600 Go can play Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield 2.

And it's true, because my neighbor has an HP dv9000t notebook with a GO 7600 256mb video card with Vista Home Premium.

Ghost, it is kinda a off topic question but I don't feel like making a new thread. Which game is better bf 2 or bf 2142.
