Ok, im sure some of you guys have had this problem, where you can't play
BF2 because of a certain refresh rate on your computer and it is locked and cannot be changed. Thanks to BF2 you cannot run the game with certain refresh rates. i've been trying to figure out this problem for two weeks approx. and i have found nothing. Today i messed around with the profile\default\video.con file and found out that if you input your screen resolution with your refresh rate, the game will be able to run.

This is how you do it.

    First go into:

    1. C:\Users\Your Name\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default
    2. Then Double Click on a text file called video.con

It will look similar to this

Where you see the red, it would be something like 60HZ or 75HZ or something in that taste with another resolution depending on your initial setup.

What you do is put the lowest resolution (800X600) followed by your locked refresh rate. Then it would look something like this 800X600@ YOUR_RATE

Replace your_rate by your computer's refresh rate.

Then launch BF2 and it should work.

If your still having problems, just try and launch BF2 in compatibilty mode with XP SP2 and Run as Administrator

    People still play BF2?

But seriously, I just always used Vsync. At 60Hz I never had a problem.
