The previous drivers before 359.00 installed just fine without modding anything, today after I formatted and tried installing 359.00 towards the beginning of the installation it just fails with an unknown reason. I guess I have to edit the INF or something but have forgotten how to do so.
Can you please show me a step by step guide on how to edit it and what is the value I need to add and where?
I have Dual GTX 980M in SLI

I'd recommend posting this in the official P870DM owners thread as more people with direct experience of this model and editing ini files will see it and be able to advise you

I have not run into that yet, but the modded firmware I am using probably has a different GPU hardware ID, not to mention it is GTX 980.
@Matrix Leader - post your GPU hardware ID from Device Manager and I will help tomorrow morning (going to bed now @ 2:18AM) or look at the threads index in my signature with links to GPU driver INF modding. You can fix it in about 2 minutes with Windows Notepad.
Before doing that, did you boot with Driver Signature Enforcement disabled? Windows 8/8.x/10 are all super stinky about signatures and the OS may have a burr under it's saddle about the signature for some stupid reason. It may install OK with DSE disable, so try that first. If you need to mod the INF, booting with DSE disabled will be required with any OS newer than Windows 7. Enable the Legacy Boot Menu for Windows 8/8.x/10 from the Windows Command Prompt and you won't have to fuss with the idiotic gyrations that the newer OSes require, just press F8 like Windows 7 and select the option from the menu without having to enter and exit Windows first.
Code:bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

I didn't have to do any of this with the previous driver I don't know why this one isn't installing. Mind you I installed Windows 10 with secure boot off. Didn't ever need to disable driver signature enforcement before and in fact this is one of the things I mentioned in my review that it's good nVIDIA has added the hardware ID in their latest drivers but still I'd like to know how to edit the INF file for when the new nVIDIA Drivers are released I am well prepared.Mr. Fox likes this. -
- Check to be sure you downloaded the Windows 10 64-bit driver (not 32-bit)
- If you did download the correct driver, try installing again with DSE disabled at boot
- Clean out the old driver with DDU just in case if both of the above fail, then try again
I will check with you in the morning if none of that worked. Mr. Fox is going night-night for real this time.i_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
