I would like to ask (concerning nc8430 with X1600, but it can be in general):

    1) What tool should I use to check frequency of the core and memory?

    2) Is there any tool I can use to manually set speed of the core and memory? I've tried ATITool and RadLinker, but it seems that none of them is working on my nc8430 with X1600.

Reason why I am asking: When you connect an external display to the nc8430, the ATI driver ignores settings in the PowerPlay and sets higher clock and thus more heat/noise from fans. I would like to override the PowerPlay and set the speed manually (low frequency).

    Thanks,
    Petr
