The laptop I bought has an Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics which is not good for games and I would like to know how to remove that and add a better graphics card? Is there an adapter I can use for my comp and insert a better card onto it or do I need to send my computer in. Thanks in advance.

A dedicated GPU needs a different motherboard than an integrated card.

at this moment the answer is: No.

However, I ask you: Does your computer have an express card?

If yes, then there might be a solution available soon. Asus is making an express card interface external graphics solution. No word on many details but if you have an express card and want to know more...well post that you do.

You cannot upgrade the graphics card and in my opinion the Asus XG station is not cost effective at all.

I personally doubt that external GPU via express card is a good idea at all. Because there is a cap on how much data can be transfter on the express slot. the cards are likely to be crippled in terms of performance. Unless they figure out how to fit a external PCIE slot in a laptop, there is no practical solution of external GPU.

There was a standard for that. You can and search for eSata in Wikipedia.
But the only external form of PCI Express to be ever used is ExpressCard, which is a x1 link (instead of the x16).So if they want to make an external x4 or x16 link, they have to make the standard for it and make sure it works.

on this note, do you think it would be possible to upgrade say a GeForce GO 7200 with a 7800 gt, etc? or an x1300 up to a x1600?

per the below post i am a jackass

It has already been answered in this thread, two stickies, and probably 500 threads before this. 99% of the time you cannot upgrade graphics cards. Even if the laptop has upgradeable graphics, you're going to be hard pressed to ever find a part to upgrade to.
