The specs are in my sig, I don't figure I'll be able to run it on high but how I can run it on this computer is dependent on whether I purchase the game for this or the PS3.

    Thanks.

The PS3 will run it better as the PS3 has a graphics card equivalent to the 7800GTX or so, compounded by the fact that there is no OS to run under the game itself.

Should be the same, your native res is very low so playing at that im assuming medium settings, maybe some high, how well can you run Cod4? It wont be too much different than that.

I ran COD4 on mostly high and got a smooth frame rate, I was just double checking that it would look nice and remain at playable frame rates before I go ahead and purchase it on the PC. I wish that Dell had given me the 1080p screen, I got this laptop as an exchange from the M1530 and got several hardware upgrades as well as this completely different laptop but the screen resolution is worse than what I had before (1680x1050). I thought they had to match or beat everything about the old laptop....I guess the screen doesn't count :(

Its looking so far that MW2 will be using the same engine as COD4, I am also assuming they slightly tweaked some aspects of it so it may even run better?

This is mostly speculation, but it should run it basically the same as you ran COD4.

I wouldnt take the lower res screen as a bad thing either, your going to be able to play games a lot longer at that res than a higher one, plus that card is not meant for anything above 1440x900, the memory bandwidth isnt high enough to push high frames at high resolutions.

Gotcha! Do you play COD games on the PC? How is the community? I'm pretty new to PC gaming and just trying to move some purchases over to the PC while it still has the ability to play games....

The problem with a gaming night on this forum is no one is in the same time zone/area of the world.

Im assuming Eastern time zone is quite popular, im in that one, but there is a lot of variety on this forum.

That's fine, we can even have regional gaming nights. I wouldn't set anything for awhile I would ask and see how much interest there is and see what time zones people are in and likely arrange gaming nights by region and let people decide the time and once it gets rolling sort of set it for that day and time every week.

I'd be down for gaming night :). Someone should make a separate thread to keep track of the people that want to participate as well as which time zone/games they have.

If you can max CoD4 then you can max MW2. MW2 uses the same engine as WaW and Cod4 so if you can run those games maxed out then you can handle MW2 at the same settings at the same frame rate.

And since they got Texture Streaming in this one, the game will run better and look better as well. Though i will disable this when i get the game, Texture streaming causes some texture load in lag.

If you had the 4670, I would say you could run it better than the PS3 or Xbox. COD4 is actually rendered at a very low res on the consoles (1024x600 2xAA) so a modern mid-level GPU like the 4670 would have no trouble keeping up at that res, or higher.

But the 3670 is just a bit too old and slow. On high-settings you would get a lower framerate than the PS3, which I think runs COD4 at a smooth 60fps with no slowdown.

But you can still enjoy the game on medium settings no problem.
