How smoothly does Just Cause 2 run on your laptops? Specs, settings, framerates, unexpected slowdowms?

Horrible.... Just... Horrible.
Thank God for my i7 920 - HD 5850 - 6GB RAM, desktop computer -
It's an Eidos game. There is the biggest hint. Eidos pretty much sworn off PC gaming and only focuses on console.
It runs OK with my laptop with high detail/texture but with some of the effects turned off.
The mouse lag is ridiculous though. The framerate is steady 35-45 usually, but again, mouse lags horrifically.
- Some say you need high FPS for mouse to function correctly. I just think it's terrible console port. On the 360 it runs a steady 30FPS with no turning lag or aiming issues.
Console port through and throughIt's been noted the aiming and gun control etc are pretty broken for PC as it's really made for console players, massive amounts of auto-aim interference. For example, even when you have the crosshair directly on a person while on a car, you will COMPLETELY miss. Seems for direct hits registering, game needs auto-aim in effect like in console, but for PC since you turn that off, it just won't register... Or something like that. It's just broken.
But the thrill of jumping from car to car and whatnot is fun, I guess makes up for the above? -

tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
I actually attempted to play it maxed out at full res on my 46" tv with my laptop via hdmi...I had to sit through the whole first video while it was going about 1 fps. the video is only about 2 minutes long, but it lasted for over 10 and i couldn't pause to change the settings.
But once i changed the settings down a little (objects to medium, vsic off, processing to 4x, and left detal on high), res down to 1680x1050 it runs pretty smooth using an xbox 360 controller playing on my tv via hdmi.
it does run alot better on my 360, and this game is just horribly made for pc. I've never seen a game lag so much by just playing on high (and I can play alomost every game on high, except for crisis and gta) -

I haven't tried playing it with the keyboard, I just use my Logitech Chillmaster 360 USB Controller. Works great with every console port game, and I can use Xpadder for other games that don't support Joypads (like the Witcher). As far as performance it runs pretty well on my system, but I have to set shadows to medium and AF to 8x with everything else on very high and soft particles and decals on. @1920x1200 it looks nice, I'll post a video about it sometime.

Actually plays fine on my m11x...

Runs at 30-35 fps at 1280x720, low shadows, no aa, no ssao everything else on highest setting or on. I tried overclocking my card to stock clocks and it ran pretty much the same with 1600x900 and a bit more things turned on. Mouse lag sucks though.

Runs brilliantly well here - maybe it's an Nvidia advantage?
Getting a minimum of 30FPS in crowded stronghold takeovers at worst and a speedy 50FPS while flying at 1600x900 with 2x AA, no SSAO or Vysnc and everything else maxed (with shadows on medium). -
no, this game does not run horrible on a decent machine... it's runs great on my MX11, and that thing has a relatively slow CPU running at a whopping 1.3ghz.... Was actually pleasantly suprised with how well this game ran and was optimized for DX10. I was proud of Edios on this particular game.
EDIT: OK, just for comparison and to test ATI gpu's, I ran the dark tower benchmark on my G73. It scored 50.7fps average using native 1600x900, high textures, objects, shadows, water, 2xAA, no AO Looked great and appeared totally smooth -
(Full specs in sig)
My settings are:
1600x900 Resolution (native)
Texture detail: High
Shadows Quality: Medium
Anti-Aliasing: Off
Anistropic Filtering: 2X
Water Detail: Medium

SSAO: Off
Point Light Specular: On
Bokeh Filter: On

hi man just wanna ask what setting you have in just cause 2 and what fps you have? -
-
^^well how much fps you get with those settings.

This game is awful. It looks old and doesnt have the smoothness of an action game. Someone mentioned "mouse lag", I thought that was just me, I literally played the game for about 3 minutes, so boring it made me nervous.
-
too me game is very fun and looks great and doesn't look old at all lol
on my laptop g50vt-x5 i get pretty much low fps with res down too 1024x768 and everything on except those cuda options and shadows off i get around 30s avg and 20s min and 40s and 50s high but it does have that mouse lag... but its playable
but on my desktop in sig that's a different story
1920x1200 8anti 16x ansip and everything on maxed
i get 50s 60s and 70s avg and can go up too 80s and 90s sometimes and have no mouse lag at all it seems that anything under 40 you will get the mouse lag not sure why but if its over 50+ its gone.
also vsink is pretty much bugged in the game at first my desktop was going up and down from 30 too 60 every 5sec i turn that off and it was pretty much a steady fps.
but ya game is fun i find it weird why they didn't have online in it.. that would've been so much fun. -
