I'm guessing medium settings or so. But I'd be glad to hear better![]()

When the demo comes out later this week (fingers crossed) or in the near future, we will get to see how our systems handle it.

Near future most probably

Most likely on medium-low settings at a reduced resolution.
-
or wait till it comes out then you dont have to ask this
-
8600m gt ddr2 or ddr3?

Hmm, that's rather disappointing. I was hoping closer to Medium-high than medium-low. I have no problem sacrificing resolution and AA for framerates, but I like at least medium/high details for textures and such.

Yeah, BioShock is supposed to be a little more CPU intensive rather than just the video card (look at all the technical effects like physics in the video for proof).
-
The tech specs recommended a pretty high amount of VRAM though.

any game that hasnt come out shouldnt be spoken for yet. with games coming out that are poorly coded, you will often get worse performance then expected. this does not apply to all games, but its a little hard to speak for a game that no one has even played yet.
edit: im not making sense...just worked a 12 hour day in the sun with no breaks...ill make sense of this rambling later on. -

I'm excited to see if the DX10 code path truly works faster than the DX9 one since the previous DX10 patched games don't inspire hope about the 8600's DX10 capabilities.
-
Looking forward to run the game on my system.

Just went to their official forum website, this is what I've dug up, posted by one of them BioShock developers, pretty much it:
XBOX360 owners can now download BioShock Demo.
go to www.gametrailers.com to see the actual demo game footage on the XBox...truly amazing game. -

The minimum requirements are a X1300 or better, yet the X1550 doesn't count? That seems very strange considering the X1550 is a more modern 80nm shrink of the RV515 and is actually faster than the vanilla X1300 although slower than the X1300 Pro.
-
So, pretty much what the OP has is going to be able to run this, based on the recommended settings.
I'm so looking forward to this. I never heard anything about multiplayer, is that going to be any good? -
-
i guess i cant run it on my notebook then (stupid x1700)
oh well, ill just have to run it on my e6400 @3.4GHz and my 2900XT........ -
A pity I only have an 8500 in my desktop. I really need to see about getting that fixed. I didn't think I'd be doing much PC gaming but with some of the stuff on the horizon it can be hard to resist. Still, I'm pretty confident that I'll be playing Bioshock on my 360. Perhaps I will get the PC version in a couple years when the recommended specs are laughably underpowered
How will a C2D 2.0zh, 2gigs of RAM, and a 8600m gt run Bioshock?
