I was wondering if load times and performance would increase if I were to put something like World of Warcraft onto an SD card or one of those expresscard SSDs.

An SD memory card or cheap SSD is worse than any normal hd. A good SSD will perform much better than a laptop HD.

    The benefit is faster loading.

SSD/HDs only affect FPS if something else is very, very wrong (no where near enough RAM for example.)

I used to play unreal tournament (the original) off a thumb drive, but then i realized copying it to my computer sped it up. older games are okay, but i wouldn't try it with newer ones.
