I'm interested in buying a notebook PC (the Gateway MX3410 - Turion 64 X2 ML-50,80GB HD, 512MB DDR2) with nVIDIA's IGP graphics solution (the nVIDIA GeForce Go 6100) . How good is this graphics card compared to similar IGP cards offered by ATI/Intel? Is it better than the ATI Xpress 200M and Intel GMA 950?
I only plan on playing games such as Halo: Combat Evolved; nothing too intensive.

The 6100 would prolly be at the top of that list in terms of performance. Don't expect high end settings even on current gen games, which I'm sure you know already.

The 6100 will preform about the same as the Xpress200. Both the 6100 and the Xpress200 are conideralbly more capable than the Intel 950.

I'm sure the 6100 will rock out Halo. I ran it on my old C640 with Mobility Radeon 7500 - 32MB shared vRAM, DirectX 7, and no pixel shader support. And I thought it looked good on there. Maybe not Xbox quality, but PS2 quality graphics.

ok Thanks for the replies!
Hey Notebook_ftw, I was just wondering how u get those spiffy signatures? -
They're from userbars.com. You can just click on one and it will take you to the website.

Lol, I couldn't find one for Gateway, so i think i won't bother. Thnx neways!

I think you can request that one be made on that site. I'm not sure though.

The Nvidia GeForce Go 6100 works surprisingly well for me! Just make sure you upgrade to 1GB of ram if you're using Vista (512mb is really cheap if you know where to look). I can play Dawn of War: Dark Crusade on medium-high settings at great FPS, and that game isn't even a year old yet. Plus your processor is better than mine. I'm sure that laptop will rock (more or less) Halo.

How's nVIDIA GeForce Go 6100's performance?
