Well my old laptop has gone the way of the dodo and I was stuck with around a £500 budget I found this laptop In of all places SAinsburys...
So for the price of £399 it's based on a msi 660 case with 4gig ram
i3-370 processor and a gtx460m 1.5g graphics card the hard disk is a 5200 640gig affair.
To me it looks like it's got decent memory coupled with a superb graphics card the processor and the hd look the weakest links but its got an extra drive so could pick up a ssd for rest of my budget. This model of laptop seems to have had all the i3 i5 and i7 processors so I guess it's possible I'd be able to swap out the processor at a later date.
Looking at the benchmarks for this laptop with the only difference being a i7 processor it was hitting around 11-12k benchmark scores I'm obviously not going to get that but do you think it will be capable of playing current games at a reasonable fps?

With a 1366 x 768 res? Yes
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
Benchmarks BF:BC2 at 55FPS on a 1080p screen, so it should be just fine.
I suggest posting in the "What Notebook Should I Buy?" section. -
Thats a VERY good gpu for that price but the i3 will be the bottleneck but still overall very good deal, grab it while you can!

yes looks like an excellent deal. In fact, the 460m can deliver decent framerates for most games at 1920x1080 if you output via HDMI to your 1080p television.
How's this laptop going to fare?
