I mostly game with headphones, and since I'm looking to buy a pair, I would like to know if I buy USB Headphones (which come with like, their own sound card) or standard ones (that use the computer's soundcard). Is the Dell Vostro 1500 sound card good enough for gaming? Or should i get USB headphones?

I couldn't say directly about the Vostro 1500, but similar notebooks seem to have a decent soundcard with speakers, and much better with headphones.
My PowerPro 10:15 j for example is excellent sounding with headphones, and pretty good with speakers. I wouldn't see the reason for needing to have USB headphones. -
You'll get MUCH better sound from the on board soundcard that's built into the vostro. The USB sound cards were actually made for people without sound cards, and people still running win98> They aren't very good or responsive.

Or get the SB X-Fi for notebooks (PCMCIA).
Hows the dell Vostro 1500 sound card for gaming?
