I frequently use Hwinfo64 and RTSS to push an overlay to my games. I just got a Gigabyte with 5700HQ and 970M and there are no options for the 970M in Hwinfos settings regarding overlay.

The igpu (Intel HD 5600) has the usual full array with core clock, temp etc but there´s only a line stating "GTX 970M" and then no options below it. Anyone else experienced this and have a fix? Is it disabled because I´m not running a game yet? Might have to Alt-tab and check the boxes.

As an added insult I logged my game session but when i pulled the file into Hwinfos GenericLogViewer the values where all mixed up, there weren´t even any for cpu clock speed so I couldn´t plot any graphs :/

Use MSI On-Screen Display Server w/ MSI Afterburner, it tends to help.

MSI Afterburner doesn't show everything that HWiNFO64 does... I don't use it because I want to see my hottest CPU core at any given time, not be forced to monitor 8 threads.

It would be a good test though to see if its an HWiNFO64 bug with that machine.

Set GPU-z to use the nvidia GPU. Run their graphics benchmark. Then start HWinfo64 sensors. It should "prime" the video card so that HWInfo can read the GPU and you should get all your options.

Thanks all. The dGPU was indeed idle/disabled and needed to be activated. I started Heaven benchmark and the options became available.

Remains to be seen if the logging will work. I had accidentally put more than one value on the same spot in the overlay "matrix", might have been that.

Forgot to say it's the Gigabyte P55W v4.

First time using an Optimus laptop, eh? There's an option in HWiNFO general settings called Wake GPUs disabled by nVidia Optimus. You want to make sure it's checked.

    P.S. Don't tell Batman, he'll be jealous. :p

Maybe, I´ve tested Gigabyte P35X and Aorus X7 Pro without this problem, don´t they have Optimus?
I can´t find that option, neither on the P55W nor my older version on my P771ZM. Strange.

Too late about Batman, he´s managing the spreadsheet, scoffing at the power throttle :p

P35x is Optimus, X7 is SLI so no Optimus.

The option isn't there when you click settings on the welcome pop-up right after launching HWiNFO?
