I've been doing some research on notebooks with Hybrid CF. Looks like some of the big companies are finally listing some models, although they haven't been released yet. I've found three notebooks with Hybrid CF so far, figured I'd post what they are so people know what to look forward to.

Toshiba A305D-S6886 (seems to be sold out everywhere, plus the hybrid CF uses the slower HD3100 IGP)

Asus F8Tr (had to dig on the Asus website to even find the thing, but they have drivers and manuals listed already)

MSI PX211 (Really excited about this one, I like MSI a lot. Has nothing on their USA website but can easily be found on their English Taiwanese site)

I'm already saving up for whichever one I get (probably the PX211), I'm hoping that they're out in early 2009 but nobody has any release dates. Hope this helps anyone looking for a Hybrid CF notebook.

Probably should have done that to begin with. :p Sorry, I'm procrastinating at work and I have a terrible migraine...

    MSI PX211:

    Toshiba A305D-6886:

    Asus F8Tr:

    http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=2372&l1=5&l2=26&l3=501&l4=0

Having glanced at each of these, it looks like the Toshiba offsets the 3100 IGP with a 3470 instead of a 3450. Don't really get what the point would be, but there it is.

I would guess go with weaker integrated GPU to save even more battery then make up for it with stronger dedicated GPU when your not too worried about battery life. Just my guess.

    Ty for links!

In a nutshell, it allows you to use a HD3100/3200 integrated chipset (AMD780G) with a Radeon 34xx series dedicated graphics card in a Crossfire setup for improved graphics performance.

There are already tons of desktop motherboards that support this setup, but notebook manufacturers are slow to catch on. We'll probably see more in early 2009.

I dig the MSI too, but the Asus F8Tr has the faster 3470.

Wonder what the difference would be, considering the higher core speed on the 3470, even though they are both limited by a 64bit memory bus

Wow that MSI is pretty awesome, considering it's only a 12 incher, and it has a HD3450 on it!
